Jeffrey Foucault - December 9, 2016

SOLD OUT

11/11/16 - we will maintain a waiting list

Three Springs Barn is immensely pleased to welcome the return of Jeffrey Foucault for this very special Friday night show. At times it’s challenging to convey to the reader our admiration for the musicians that grace our humble stage. The repetitive use of accolades only goes so far. Because Jeffrey Foucault is originally from Wisconsin, and thus understands Midwesterners, hopefully he—and you—will understand that when we say he is a very fine musician, one of the best we know, you will know that we mean it. In addition to the texture of his voice and his excellent guitar playing, perhaps the thing that most clearly separates him from the crowd is his writing. Jeff Foucault knows the power of words. He chooses them carefully and strings them together in such a way as to stop you in your tracks. These words of review from the New York Times, which references one of our favorite songs from his new album, nicely convey our thoughts: “Sometimes his songs run right up to the edge of the grandiose and hold still, and that’s when he’s best…’Des Moines’ [is] close to perfection.” So there you have it. If you’re not already familiar with the music of Jeffrey Foucault, peruse his press page and listen to some of his music. Here’s a small sampling to get you started: Rico, Hurricane Lamp, and Des Moines, which is quite simply beautiful.

To reserve your seat, you must RSVP. We’re asking $20 for this show, though if you threw more in the jar, not only would that be entirely appropriate, but we’re sure that Jeff would appreciate it. Doors will open at 7 with music to begin at 7:30. As always, BYOB for the communal washtubs and a snack to share if you’d like. We’re really looking forward to it.
