Minneapolis band Communist Daughter has a strong and growing following and we’re extraordinarily pleased to feature them at Three Springs Barn. Their music is intimate and heartfelt and true and informed from personal experiences, as this review from the Chicago Sun Times reveals. Their take on indie-folk has been compared to the Civil Wars or Elliott Smith or Bon Iver, but comparisons only go so far and it’s best to experience them yourself and form your own opinions. Videos of ‘Soundtrack to the End’, ‘Speed of Sound’, and ‘City Love’ provide a great introduction to the music of Communist Daughter and as always, we encourage you to visit the band’s website for further exploration.

We’re asking $20 for this show with all proceeds going to the artists (and the full band is coming, so it’s definitely artists in the plural form). As always, BYOB for the communal washtubs and a snack to share if you’d like. Doors will open at 7:30 PM with music to begin at 8:00 PM.
