A warm barn on a cold, dark night in January somehow seems the perfect setting to experience The Pines, a band that has achieved something of a cult following in the upper-Midwest. The Pines frontmen, David Huckfelt and Benson Ramsey, are native Iowans and they know how to craft music that appeals to people familiar with long, dark winters and the subtle beauty of rural America. The Pines are "quietly gripping", says Rolling Stone magazine, and they "...can make you feel happy and sad almost simultaneously" (No Depression) with their "simply and eloquently stated sonic poetry" (Acoustic Guitar). The intimate setting of the barn should make for a fantastic space to experience the music of The Pines. For this Friday night show, doors will open at 7 PM and music will begin at 7:30 PM. You MUST reserve your seats for this evening; to do so, please RSVP to Milesdog@tds.net. We’re asking $15.00 at the door per person, with all proceeds going to the musicians. BYOB for the communal beverage tub, and a snack to share if you like. We’re looking forward to it.
